The Top 10 Most Transformational Books

April 15, 2018

Hello from Zurich, Switzerland, where I am giving a meditation workshop this evening. I have 20 minutes to myself so I thought I’d share some of the books I have read – reread and will likely read many more times.

These 10 books came to mind today but I am certain there are a good few I am forgetting here. So expect a part 2!

By the way, Ive also included 3 words that symbolise what was evoked in me whilst reading.

  • Man’s Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl (Resilience, Evolution, Illness)
  • Autobiography Of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda (Dream, Service, Infinity)
  • The Alchemist by Paul Coehlo (Presence, Patience, Perspective)
  • 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss (Resourceful, Constructive, Empowering)
  • Think On These Things by Krishnamurti (Enquiry, Learning, Meaning)
  • Become What You Are by Alan Watts (Non-Duality, Self-Love, Illusion)
  • Psycho Magic by Alejandro Jodorowsky (Inventiveness, Intuition, Outlook)
  • Factotum by Charles Bukowski (Realism, Suffering, Loneliness)
  • Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle (Simplicity, Self Awareness, Kindness)
  • Daily Rituals by Mason Currey (Inspiration, Flexibility, Inventiveness)

Why would I read them again?

Just like a poem or a song can feel like it were precisely written about our life or experience in the moment, I feel these books are relevant and in tune with the moment in which it is read, no matter when.

It’s like the content of each book evolves and shifts along with the reader as the years go by. New shades and subtleties appear out of the pages with each new reading.

Let me know if you’ve read any of these and what your experience of the reading was like? If you decide to read one of them I’d also love to know your thoughts.
